Olivetones is the Detroit based interdisciplinary art of Joe Namy. His visual and aural creations attempt new ways of empowering reflections and reverberations derived from his Lebanese heritage. He has devoted the majority of his conscious life (approximately 4 years) to exploring the manipulation of color, sound and images as a means of documenting and catalyzing social change and cultural representation - art that attempts to clarify his own identity, as well as inspire self-awareness for others. His work has been exhibited in galleries, classrooms, museums, gas stations, bookstores, restaurants, bathrooms and an elevator shaft.
